Dog Activities

Teaching your dog to be active can be easy or hard, depending on the type of dog you have and the amount of exercise you want him or her to be getting. Dogs are pack animals and need to be able to move around and exercise in order to stay healthy and fit. If you just let your dog run loose and play a little, he or she will most likely become inactive and lay around the house a lot. If you want to teach your dog how to be more active, the best way to go about it is to start using dog activity toys. By doing this you will get a better idea of what your dog enjoys doing and be able to use this to teach him or her how to become more active.Different types of dog activity toys are available, but two of the best ones are the Gentle Leader and the Power Step. Gentle Leader's give a positive reward after your dog completes a task such as going for a drink or coming to greet you, which will encourage your dog to want to keep doing the same action so that you get rewarded. This works great for showing dogs that they have a good reason to be excited about being able to please you and helps them understand that good things happen when they do as you want them to.The Power Step is a great dog activity toy because it breaks the dog up into small pieces. Then you can put the pieces back together so that your dog has to work at solving the puzzle again. The dog is motivated to continue because he knows that if he doesn't complete the whole toy he will get no reward. One of the best dog activity toys you can use to keep your dog busy and exercising is the Gentle Leader. When you combine dog activity toys with lots of praise and treats, you will soon have a healthy and happy dog who will love you for everything you do.
